The Country That Shook – Update

Cyberpac are proud to announce as early supporters of this amazing project, that this school destroyed in the Nepalese Earthquake – has now been reopened.

An old friend and Cyberpac designer, Sophie Maliphant set about this incredible fundraising project having been a witness to the tragedy that was the 2015 earthquake.

Her mission was to create, illustrate and self publish her beautiful book The Country That Shook (the project also included T-shirts and posters), every penny of which was to go to the project. By the end of 2016, an incredible £10,000 had been raised. This was enough to pay for 2 classrooms and a toilet block and help this Ghurka community rebuild their lives and secure it for future generations.

On the 3rd Anniversary of the quake Sophie returned to the village 7,000 feet above sea level, to attend the grand opening ceremomy with the local mayor and representatives of The Gurkha Welfare Trust who were the partner on the ground.
