Manchester United + Adidas

In 2015 athletic clothing giant, Adidas signed a £750m deal to make Manchester United’s official kit for 10 years. This brought together two of the biggest brands in sport.

The partnership was exciting news, made more thrilling when Cyberpac was approached by creative agency, Colt. Together we worked in partnership to create the new official Manchester United shirt presentation pack for the launch event.

Packaging needed to be slick, beautifully finished and have a real sense of occasion on unboxing. The box was designed with different layers of unveiling, adding intrigue to the package.

The Whole Package

The stunning red & black bespoke design was made up of an outer slipcase with a slotted opening at the top of the box. A ribbon-pull action removed the presentation box jacket, unveiling the Adidas sponsored Manchester United shirt.

The outer part of the box was created as a custom oversize A3 slipcase covered in luxurious black Fedrigoni Ispira Nero wrapping paper; soft touch and beautifully flat matt paper with a velvety surface. The box detail included a large red metallic trident in line with Man United’s current campaign, #BreakExpectations along with a foil blocked clean white Adidas logo and product launch date. The design also included a vibrant red grosgrain ribbon at the top end of the case.

First Impressions Count

Ispira papers and boards are ideal for packaging, commercial printing, inserts and brochures. Peeling back the box jacket it reveals a foiled ‘BREAK EXPECTATIONS’ logo with a further Ispira card layer in a 360gsm card. Hinged to the right of the box, with a glimpse of the official shirt showing through, was the intriguing die cut pattern. Inside, a foam tray and stiffener card were used to hold the pristine shirt in place.

What We Love!

The design was beautifully tactile with a luxury feel to it, making the un-boxing process all the more exciting at the press launch.

The Cyberpac team were super-proud to be able to work on this prestigious project for two such high-profile brands. The block foiled red trident on the top of the box added to the luxury quality, and by using a variety of different techniques and elements the overall presentation box felt ultra-premium.
