Farnell's Bio Bag

Biodegradable packaging for the electronics industry.

This pioneering compostable material has been developed for Farnell, one of the worlds largest distributors of electronic components. It supports their drive to reduce plastic waste and is a primary differentiator from alternative electronic packaging products currently available in the market place. 

The new packaging offers the same level of protection as standard ESD packaging, but can be disposed of in composting facilities reducing the impact on the environment. 

The bags are made using a unique formulation, making them fully biodegradable to the recognised European standard (EN13432) which ensures no harmful chemicals are released into the environment.

Combine this with the inherent static dissipative properties and it represents a true industry first.

It is intended that this novel packaging solution will replace the estimated 3.6 million polythene bags currently used to package components despatched by Farnell in Europe each year.
